What's wrong with going through the hot-water heater maintenance just at the beginning of the autumn, before turning the heating on?

More than 90% of the hot-water heaters are for double use (hot water production and heating). This means that the hot-water heater is always on, and, since there is a single gas burner, the only difference between summer and winter regards the time of functioning.
